This, IMO, is to try and stop a 3 game ban becoming a 5 game ban.
Im genuinely worried this is going to be looked at again on monday, and mavvers will end up joining him. If traore is banned i'll throw a party.

Anyway, who have we got in the the youth team?

If Cole palmer wasn’t a footballer he’d be riding around on a bike dressed in black including a balaclava with a man bag containing weed and a zombie knife!
and Rosenier ( Liam not Leroy ) winds me up as well got an arrogant air about him with no good reason

Was Nuno proving a point as he felt he had his nose put out of place by Paco the week before.   Baffling to bring Kilman on when we needed fresh legs in midfield.

More legs in the middle not a formation change  would have been better.

Not at all, in fact it makes far more sense having him on when we are attacking and fresh than sticking the poor bloke up there on his own when Nuno does his sit back and hope routine leaving Wilson alienated.  That's not Wilson's game, Taty's legs and energy would be a better bet then.  Yesterday it was clear Pablo was knackered as it showed with their first goal.  First half he would have made a challenge but he just couldn't catch the fella before he crossed it.  IMO the ideal sub then would have been put Wilson on and just drop Taty in behind him in Pablos position.  I still think Taty had some energy left in him.  Bar that bring another midfielder on either Potts or Magassa and stick Fernandes behind Wilson.  Far better than Kilman, back three and hope as the hope has never worked.

The behaviour does reflect him as he has previous for gripping others up by the throat and kicking off behind the scenes, the only surprise is he actually did it to the opposition this time.
All true, however it was on Traore to not get triggered by Cucurella. Had he not done that, Todibo wouldn't have got involved. Traore had won a corner, we could have crowded the keeper and had a right go

Massive. Totally agree. It's a shame Wilson no longer has the legs that Taty does because I think there are several chances that Taty has had that Wilson in the same position would have buried.

I was watching some of the old europa conference games on You Tube last night for a bit of light relief and I noticed how different movement and pace wise Soucek was then. Totally different player an absolute tank and he also had Rice next to him. Years are cruel. 442 is brave but Soucek can't do 90 minutes in there.

it shows how far we have fallen when the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford get it right recruitment wise and we don't. It's just unacceptable and down to the board.

Our manager is a cսnt but he is also fucking useless and as Ive said in numerous occasions (yawn) trying to get sacked. After the first 5 or 6 minutes of the second half it was obvious what was needed. Fresh legs in the midfield. Pablo and Soucek off with Potts and Magassa on. That way Fofanna doesn't get to run 75 yards from the half way line unimpeded before crossing, what the fuck was our goalkeeper doing jumping into the net instead of trying to you know get the fucking ball, i don't know, for their first goal. It would have also allowed the full back to stay on their man and stop the crosses, which our CB's and GK cannot fucking cope with. But no he takes off Bowen, the idea of trying to win a game does not immediately mean taking your leading scorer off now does it you cսnt and for fucking Traore no less. Unbelievable. Sack him now. I firmly believe he thought that playing 4-4-2 would definitely get us relegated so imagine his surprise when we won 2 in a row and were 2-0 up at half-time. Well fuck that, we will take off a front man, not for a midfielder, no for a fucking useless CB in Kilman and invite them onto us. Well he got what he wanted a defeat.

Glad I got that off my chest. Now where's the red wine.

zico wrote: 01 Feb 2026, 10:10 It's a cliche but the best teams have the best spines down the middle. You could argue that Fernandes is the best we have in that area. The others have their moments and in Pablo and Tatys case they run around a lot but none are top quality.

I was watching intently yesterday on MotD young Striker Kroupi - 19yo - ripping it up as per yesterday for Bournemouth. He continues to impress having finally arrived in the Summer for just £10M. Not only does he work his bollocks off causing a right nuisance but crucially he can also add plenty of goals as well - that was his 8th in the Prem for Bournemouth in 19 Prem games almost 1 in 2. He reminded me a bit of a young Wilson and would have been ideal for us.

That is the kind of young quality Striker signing we should be making. Shay Given mentions the moment he was involved in verbals walking off the pitch half time with Wolves Keeper Sa he rightly likes the fact he's also got an edge to him because you need more than just work rate to do well in this League. He channels it the right way and Bournemouth benefit greatly from it. Some goal as well he bangs in.

Whereas we fork out a fortune for 2 new Strikers with more experience/years who struggle to find the back of the net. No one will doubt their effort, great but it isn't enough. They need to be doing more and Kroupi is a good example of that. Because we have been starved of forwards up top, fans tend to lap up their presence but I don't put anywhere near as much weight behind that if they can't even add goals in the League which is ultimately the main job they are here to do.

Thinking more about it, I'd hawk Todibo about right now before tomorrow's deadline closes to Clubs in Europe to get in good money for him to then spend on other Centre Halves instead of sitting out at least 3 games (I reckon it'll be more games) for us should he stay. That would be a smart way of dealing with the situation that won't help us having him out for a while in any case, so why not try and use the opportunity to flog him now. His price will only plummet come the summer anyway when we likely go down with him. He didn't really want to be here in the first place.

In our desperate situation it was moronic to grab him by the throat and get himself sent off missing at least 3 games for violent conduct with seconds remaining of the game. Talk that the FA could well extend it. Fuck applauding that response. We've only got 14 games left. Fucking brainless.
Agree Traore didn't need defending i'm pretty sure he can look after himself.

Once that went in, we definitely needed to change it up, but the change should've been to flood the midfield with legs, Soucek and Pablo off, Magassa & Potts on. They had no pressure whatsoever on their midfielders, who were dictating everything. Yes we're all armchair managers, but that was a very easy thing to see for anyone.

Also, as hard as he works, Taty just gives us no cutting edge whatsoever. Could've kept Callum Marshall to run about like a headless chicken, and saved £30mil. Would not score more than 5 goals if he played a full Premier League season. If he was a goalscorer, we'd have been out of sight by half time.
Yep, the word that immediately springs to mind with Taty is ''limited'' he's not keeping you up. As for curly..

Manuel wrote: 01 Feb 2026, 05:17 I reckon it was kicking off big time in the dressing room after the game, clutching at straws but maybe the real anger they will be feeling will motivate them as from next week, but this is looking very grim, more so because the teams above us will pick up points. We could very conceivably be 8 or 9 points behind by the time we KO against Burnley.

When watching the fighting unfolding on the pitch for everyone to see it made me think this is probably what it looks like when the Squad is back in the dressing room in recent seasons when we suffer a poor result/performance. Things like seeing Todibo gripsing someone up by the throat wouldn't be the first time with the strong rumours of him doing likewise last year in the dressing room against Arsenal.
