Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much. Breaking Bad, Homeland done Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?"

OK mate. Some interesting characters in it, are there some people like Eric in the real world? That game is not for the faint hearted.
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Fair enough mate in that case you like the bits that I do. It gets a bit more succession like in that it becomes more about Merges & Acquisitions, corporate strategy and double crossing so is more akin to Succession in that way across seasons 3 & 4.

Jim79 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026, 13:35 Hey Manuel, im glad you stuck with Industry as I'd recommended it highly. I personally really enjoyed seasons 1 & 2 but then I work in the industry so I liked how accurate they got some of the finer points of trading floor life albeit most of the trades were completely impossible but you have to suspend reality in the name of entertainment so I haven't really got a problem with that.
Season 3 & 4 are much more written with drama and television in mind so I'd guess you'll probably start to enjoy it a bit more from there on. I still think it's probably the best thing on TV at the moment and definitely rivals Succession as a sort of English version. Stick with it mate.
Jim, I will stick with it mate, as I said it's not much to catch up on. At this point it's not going to turn into anything great to make me completely change my mind on it, but like I said it's good enough. You actually have it the wrong way around, I prefer the scenes on the trading floor as opposed to the drama and tv, as you put it.
Not sure I'd compare it to Succession, to be fair.

Yeah, I was surprised.
Expected a sort of 2nd rate chopper parody but it balanced dark humour with some deep moments.
Best thing to come of Oz since Kylie rode a mechanical bull in her undies.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
watched quite a bit of Goliath. as with most of these shows, it started well but i thought the direction started getting very self indulgent as it went on. biggest positives apart from BBT (who's always watchable), the blonde bird playing his lawyer colleague and the dark haired bird with the tits

I'm on season 2 and still not convinced but it's 'good enough' to stick with and will likely get up to date as not to much to catch up on.
You fast forward and miss some things?

MASSIVE disappointment, imho.
It was a bit 'silly' but I still enjoyed it. Third and final series next year apparently.

zebthecat wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026, 16:53It was great until the very end which was merely an excuse to set up a third series and, as long as the poeple who appear to be dead really are dead I'lll be cool with that.
More akin to Jerry Westerby blundering about in Asia in the Honourable Schoolboy than the other Le Carre novels.
Hugh Laurie was moustache twiirlingly dastardly. He is extremely good at that. .
Yeah in the end I felt I was being conned.

Gave Pluribus a go, but found it a little 'slow' (a little like Severance).
Have since returned to it, and to be honest the further you get into it the better it gets.
A really good premise.

Bosch was very good, very true to the series of novels written with him as the main character.
