From the New York Times:

"Palace had agreed a deal in principle to sell Eddie Nketiah to West Ham for £27m early in the window only for the striker to sustain a hamstring injury in training, meaning any possible January move was moot. He has not featured this calendar year.

They would have proposed securing West Ham’s Callum Wilson in a separate deal, but Glasner was initially unconvinced.

By the time he was more open to securing the striker, Wilson had scored a winning goal against Tottenham in the middle of the month and his reintegration into the first team had scuppered any chance of him leaving."

Not so much with centre halves playing a basic defensive game

He wouldn't have to do much more than turn up with a pair of boots and run around a bit to be our second best centre back. 100% in a couple of games it's him and Todibo starting and even as an average centre back we'll all see how much better he is compared to Mav and Kilman.

If Jimmy Summerville keeps playing like he has for the last few games, I don't think we'll miss Kudus at all.

Remember Alex Ferguson starting Rio when he came back from his drugs ban.  Too much is made of 'match fitness'.

Any Old Iron" wrote: 02 Feb 2026, 23:23 This Axel Disasti sounds like another Kalvin Phillips fuck up.  Gets a big fat 6 year Prem contract and set up for life and switches off.   The very last thing we need in our predicament is a mardy frog who probably won’t give a shit about WHU.
If there’s one thing that Sullivan never fails to do it’s making a bad situation a whole lot fucking worse.  The senile old git has a real talent for it.
My pal that follows Villa said he was decent for them. Committed, no nonsense and reliable.

Don't be surprised if within a month it's Disasi + one at the back. It's not long ago Todibo was a waste of money cսnt, and that Mavro was the worst CB ever to grace a West Ham shirt.

Hope he goes well for us, and then decides he wants to stay for the peak years of his career after helping us stay up.
It’s all very well you trying to be open minded and thoughtful about this geezer but the truth is that he only played a handful of games for Villa so in other words he’s played fuck all football in the past 12 months. The chances of him being match fit right now are zero.He must be weeks away from being ready.
That last sentence of yours is just virtue signalling wank.

He may have said "Look, I ain't playing at Chelsea. I want to play, but I ain't. It is what it is. So, for me, what's the point of going from Chelsea where I don't play, to West Ham where I won't play."

And if he did. Then you can see his point. It would be a nothing move for him. So he has probably just said, "If I come, I need to play, otherwise its pointless."

Now you can take that in two ways. If you want to be a cսnt about it, like Alex Crook on Talksport who slagged him off last night for being lazy and not wanting to play football, then go ahead. You can take it that way and claim he is demanding to be played. And get in a froth over why we have brought in a player who doesn't want to be here.

But, if you want to be a bit more level headed about it, you can see it as above and simply that the kid wanted to make the move worthwhile. Nowt wrong with that in my eyes. Nobody knows what conversations are had and in what context. But, let's be honest, does anyone really think he would come in and make demands like "I will be playing". No, not at all. The world is more nuanced than that and not everything is black and white all the time.
Agree- I want to see the positive as well with this. I hope he was saying he wants game time. I hope he's feeling like he's got a massive fucking point to prove and to kickstart his career. I hope he's another Lingard for us. I don't care if his ambition is higher than West Ham and if he just wants to put himself in the shop window for a few months because we reap the benefit of that. If he plays a part, looks good and we should stay up, then he can toddle off somewhere in the summer with my thanks or join permanently.

Not just the men's team they are stripping for cash

West Ham have sold defender Anouk Denton for a club record fee of £200,000 to American side Bay FC.The 22-year-old has been a key player for the Hammers since signing permanently from Arsenal in 2023, making 67 appearances.Denton became the first West Ham player to represent the Lionesses since 1996 when she made her England debut against Ghana in December. She leaves West Ham with the club 11th in the Women's Super League, one point above Liverpool in the relegation play-off spot.

I slate them because they are fucking pony. It only took Traore 15 minutes for instance to show his worth as a failed WWF wrestler and for all hell to break loose leading to our best Centre Half getting suspended for 3 games. But by all means keep an open mind about how well Sullivan and Nuno have re-balanced gutted out the Squad and delivered the only signings they have. Others see it differently.

Personally I'd rather wait to see how they get on first instead of screaming from the rooftops 5x a day on a football forum about how shit they are. It's demented. Your opinions are not worth more than anyone else's on here, so there's no need to keep repeating them.

You could always chuck your toys out the pram and leave again if what I say bothers you so much.
Like I say, your opinion is worth fuck all, so stop repeating it.

Well if they really want to spell the facts out properly, they can also mention that the Sub appearance in the FIFA World Cup Final against Argentina they like to mention was in fact 1 poxy minute at the end of Extra Time. Hardly worth mentioning at all but it's obvious why they do it so to make him sound so much better than he is.
Ffs it's quite simple

France International ✅
5 Caps ✅
