We have three very tough fixtures now that may define the rest of our season. Can get 4-6 points out of that?
- Man Utd (H) - much improved under Carrick. Tough Game.
- Bournemouth (H) - very decent side take nothing for granted in that game
- Liverpool (A) - can we steal a point there?
Im afraid our season was defined before christmas. So, no I don't reckon we will get more than 1 or 3 points at best

Won the game in the first 25 minutes with two great goals.
They came out punching 2nd half for about ten minutes but we looked like we had a gear or two in reserve if we needed it during the rest of the game.

Would be really interesting to see what another top central midfielder could do in there with Fernandes. Really impressed with Mateus, can play that half back role or push on. Tomas has been great over the years but it passes him by a lot now. Magassa must have really pissed Nuno off as he hasn't had a chance, but to be honest I wasn't convinced anyway.

Against a very weak side. Id still prefer Areola myself, but we definitely need competition and its nice to know that £20m didnt go down the shitter.

Thought Bowen played quite well without having much of the ball. They often doubled up on him, tucking one of their midfield in to help their full-back.
But Jarrod’s a canny feck these days, and didn’t panic. He wandered out wider, or deeper, so they had to commit two players further from their CBS and CMs. It helped us with space elsewhere. He was tidy on the ball, but often facing two players. I liked that he put in a selfless performance.
Should have made a better cross for a third (for Summerville), though.

With a clean sheet the keeper keeps his place.

Summerville the first West Ham player to score in 5 successive games since Jesse Lingard in March 2021

Was looking at the comments on the bbc report
‘Parker clearly needs to return to his old job as Lady Penelope’s chauffeur ‘
Thanks Scott, need another favour from Carrick on Tuesday

I think Todibo being out has done us a little bit of a favour, as disasi was straight in and had to get on with it - no time to get comfy on the bench. I know its only burnley, but a clean sheet and its hard to see any way back now for kilman.
Re: Burnley vs West Ham | PL | 7.2.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Did a job and got a result. Not a good game by any stretch but the goals were very well made and very well finished. The odd hairy moment at the back but we generally defended competently with Mavro standing out. Everyone worked hard and did a job. Got to say, Bowen was ok but did not look like an England player today.
Re: Burnley vs West Ham | PL | 7.2.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Bowen was off the pace a bit today, not his best performance.
Summerville was a threat again, Fernandez played well as did Taty. Mavropanos was my MOM. Desasi played well.
The Keeper wasn’t really threatened however he did everything right so hopefully that continues.
A Big win and a clean sheet. Gonna be an interesting couple of months, we look like a team in the rise, I see some hope finally.
Let’s hope this form continues till the end of the season, if it does we will be okay.

Great to get a clean sheet particularly on the back of last week's collapse. This was a really good response. Burnley we're fucking shit mind but that hasn't stopped us before. Would love to see another sturdy performance on Tuesday.
Re: Burnley vs West Ham | PL | 7.2.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Blimey, we held onto a lead and didnt concede. Defence looked pretty solid except that forst 10 mins of 2nd half but fair play to Nuno he got the Potts sub right to stop runners thru from midfield.
AWB was my MOTM, made some great / crucial goal saving blocks and he was closely followed by Mavro who also got to everything and made some good challenges and headers. Disasi was “rock like” without really being tested but near, tidy and assured.
We didnt really do much but “game manage” second half but cannot complain as once Potts came on to strengthen the middle they were limited to pot shots from outside the box in the main.
I had no faith as usual so glad to be wrong. A totally different test on Tuesday. Lets hope we can get something

Re: Burnley vs West Ham | PL | 7.2.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Burnley tried to batter us second half but they didnt have what it takes to overhaul a 2-0 deficit. We didn't really need to chase the game or go balls out for a 3rd and we didn't. Most importantly the Subs were decent, once they started to get on top we got potts on which took the sting out of them a bit and having Pablo and Scarles to bring on from the bench is a relative luxury for us. Hemandsen after a shaky start looked solid, Disasi looked ok too.
Banana skin avoided, now we don't have to look over our shoulder and IF we can get something out of the Man U game we're up an running,

Great to see how much this meant to the players. All smiles, and that's important.
Great first half.
Cleans sheet.

zico wrote: ↑07 Feb 2026, 17:01 Massive result, professional job despite the Referee giving Burnley every chance to get back in it.. Ironic that our only two clean sheets this season have been with Hermansen in goal. Thought he did well actually. Burnley poor bar a few early minutes second half but you can only beat what's in front of you. New lad did well, MOM for me was Mav.
With Hermansen I do think he's braver at crosses and generally balls coming in over the top. You kind of know he's going to go for them, where with Areola you have doubts.
Also better on the ball in terms of distribution, just a bit more confident.
Its a tough one between the two keepers because Arealo also pulls off some word class saves (the Chelsea one the other day etc).
