US Politics Thread
Seems like the main politics thread is becoming a Yankee-Doodle Trump-fest, so maybe scope here to split them out.
Will see if this one gains any traction ..if it does will move over a few of the million posts from our two protagonists from the other thread.
Yee-haaa!

Re: US Politics Thread
Terrorism would have continued regardless of zero involvement which isn't a good enough reason to never get involved.

Re: US Politics Thread
They are far from immune, prices at the pump in the US have already gone up and are at their highest since 22/23.
and it's not just prices at the pump, it will hit everything.
at a time when the country is struggling with affordability, Trump cannot allow this to go past a month.

Re: US Politics Thread
The USA is not immune from oil price shocks as, despite being the worlds largest oil producer, it consumes more oil than it produces with Canada being the largest exporter the US.
I'd take what Trump says about petrol prices with a massive pinch of salt.

Sound logical, everyone needs oil after all.
To me, he's done the hardest part by lobbing all the deck of cards up in the air, now let them fall whilst going to play a shit round of golf as businesses/Politicians etc start to come forward..
If the Yanks were reliant on the oil themselves, then the situation would be different but they have already took that in to their calculations that it won't effect them with "drill baby drill", so it's really everyone else's concern now getting hold of the oil if we want to be brutally honest about it.

Re: US Politics Thread
That would be a terrible choice. The US might have a high level of energy independance but they do not have economic independance.
The longer this goes, the higher the price of oil for everyone, the bigger the inflation impact, the bigger the hit on the markets, the higher the yield goes on treasurys............ and so on.
The best course of action is walking away now and pursue a diplomatic solution.

I didn't realise Iran had a population of 90 mil, becoming concerning now, see Sri Lanka have called a national holiday for tomorrow to preserve fuel etc. Someone needs to get a handle on this?

No one on here here is going to be physically or realistically involved in this Iran war
But I'm gonna back Trump on this one as l think the mad mullahs seriously do need taking outHe's taken one of them out already - what has changed? nothing.
No sign of regime change and the poor people of Iran have had their country bombed to shit, the infrastructure destroyed and the economy ruined. How have they benefitted?Trump stepped up with a Bold and courageous move to take out the Iranian regime. He could have easily rode out the next 7 months for the mid terms instead he did what is right for man kind.
Starmer the Muslim obviously won’t go along the cսnt, no surprise there. You better hope you don’t need the USA ‘s help with Russia any time soon.
Trump is the only one who is standing up against the Islamic invasion (although Japan has caught on and Italy are starting to catch a clue too) and all you wankers can do is criticize.
You truly do deserve everything that is coming your way.
And it wasn’t be pretty.
The bold and courageous Trump. When he’s not drafted for Vietnam.
Re: US Politics Thread
Iran is very different from its neighbours apart from the theocratic autocracy thing.
The population is a huge, 90+ million, and very well educated as they have a large and very good university system. Acedemia is encouraged.
It is also a very old civillisation indeed. A friend of mine at university was an Iranian immigrant and resolutely Persian, a Zarostratan and loved his beer and cricket.
I read an article years ago about Iranian students popping over the border to Turkey for rave nights at clubs largely run by expat Persians.

Iran is nothing more than an easy target , this is not an attack on the real bad muslims !

Trump tells us he has won already and doesn’t need any help
Now he is begging for help and reckons he will leave NATO if he doesn’t get it
The man is clinically insane
Not sure if it’s the dementia or his overall psychosis
Am just hoping he remains a little bit competent so that he doesn’t wriggle out of the charges of enriching himself in office.
Oh yeah and his paedo escapades with his mate Jeff
That trial will blow the OJ one away

Taking out at least 47 of their top cunts, including the main man himself whilst also leaving his incumbent half dead son that makes Stephen Hawkings look more alive, is fairly significant Regime change in itself. Sure, I get it isn't the entire kit and kaboodle (yet) but give it a bit of time eh, it's still only been 16 cunting days since the first bomb was dropped in anger. Hitler/Nazis took 6 years.![]()
Problem for Trump is time. Another couple of weeks of this and it becomes more than a short term shock.
