US Politics Thread

Seems like the main politics thread is becoming a Yankee-Doodle Trump-fest, so maybe scope here to split them out.

Will see if this one gains any traction ..if it does will move over a few of the million posts from our two protagonists from the other thread.

Yee-haaa!

Funny how Goose  believes that the US intelligence agencies know everything about Irans nuclear capabilities and missile capabilities and ambitions, especially after just finding out surprisingly that their missile range is a lot further than they thought.

These are the same intelligence agencies that fed us the Russian collusion hoax and told us Hunters laptop top was Russian disinformation.

Some people eh!

Gotta laugh!

I’m speaking as someone who believes the intelligence shared by Joe Kent.

Sorry, I made a quick edit to the post before you replied. I'm not sure Joe Kent was aware either of their true capabilities.
How about the US director of intelligence?

She ain't aware of how to manage her own highlights in her hair. 😂

Prices don't scare me off from doing the right thing for the greater good and bigger picture. I always said from the start prices going up is worth paying if it means the world is a safer place.

That Forsyth makes a good additional point that by neutering Iran, it helps the fight against Russia with Ukraine.

Did you see the import prices data yesterday? Highest in nearly 4 years.
Those import prices are the precursor to inflation.

It's coming down the track and its not going to be 'temporary'. The economy is the #1 issue that will determind the midterms, and it will not be getting better because of this.

You may believe everything Iran says but even as recently as firing a ballistic missile towards Diego Garcia was (unsurprising to me) revealing in itself to the world how much they lie about their legal military capability with the world now panicking that they can actually hit London.

Prices may not scare you but absolutely do scare millions of people worldwide.

The price of fertiliser has gone up 40%. This means the most vulnerable countries cannot afford to produce food, or the consumers cannot afford to buy food.

1% increase in global food prices pushes 10m more people into extreme poverty.

and for what? a regime change that won't happen and a nuclear weapon they didnt have and possible didnt even have the capability to build.
Everything scares you cos you're a gutless Eyetie shitbag white flag waving mad mullah mouthpiece
The only people scared of you joyo son are school age children.
Stay away from those kids son.

now be quiet son - the adults are talking.

Don't you want the end of the old regime to help liberate the Iranian people and bring around meaningful peace for the region and the wider world after 47 agonising long years of terror?
There isn’t regime change coming. Iran are still firing back.

Putting all those lives at risk isn’t worth it. Not to mention the global repercussions.
It's been proven time and again, you can't win wars in the middle east, they still live in a bygone age, as soon as you think you can leave them too it, it starts again. They are pointless wars from a West perspective.
But you have to eliminate the ultimate risk?
no?
Nukes?

Mike Oxsaw" wrote: 25 Mar 2026, 14:12 There is probably a mindset among a gaggle of hawks in the US war office thinking along the lines of "Well, a couple of nukes brought the Japanese to heel pretty quickly last time around, so...".

Big difference is that those classed as today's "enemy" would simply see the use of such weaponry as producing martyrdom for them on steroids and probably goad for more and more atom bombs to be dropped.

Of course that could create such a severe virgin shortage that people may actually decide martyrdom is not worth it for themselves...but I doubt it; virginity will simply go onto rinse & repeat.

Good to hear, we are all on the same page then. Good thing we didn't have a defeatist attitude during WWII as well, otherwise we'd all be goose stepping by now.
If our grandparents had seen how it all panned out, they'd have sided with Hitler. They fought for their families not to end the Third Reich.

Kids today would rather fight for the right to be 81 different genders or for the right for Terrorist led shithole's to be given free reign to do what they want, than stand up for their families.
Not all kids mate but get your point

For sure, and that is for the wider region to grapple with who have a far better understanding of that dynamic. The region will also have to play their part too..
