Compared to Potter and Loppy, Nuno has improved our performances.

Sadly, it' still not enough and it looks like there has been some real damage done since we dropped Moyes and shopped for replacements in the sale rail.

Sacking Nuno isn't the answer unless it means investing in a replacement, but we all know that's not an option so the only alternative is to back him in the transfer window.

But again, what is the likelihood that Sullivan allows Nuno to bring in the players he wants?

It's a fucking mess and it's not really Nuno's fault.

No denying the Squad aint all that good but it still shouldn't be in the disastrous position it currently finds itself in. And a Squad at the very least as good as Leeds and yet their manager is getting a tune out of their newly promoted side.

The manager is a serious problem getting next to fuck all results out the Team bar scraps. Other managers could get more out of it, convinced of it.

Exactly this. We have a handful of good players who are very comfortable and undoubtedly good enough, and demonstrably better than players in the squads of sides around us, but only 4-5 of them. Most of the rest are far below the required standard. It’s shameful how much better and more complete  virtually every squad barring Wolves and Burnley is than ours.

The quality of the league has gone up around us with virtually every other team making improvements where they had to and spending money sensibly while we’ve stood still and done NOTHING until the panic splurge in the last week of the transfer window only forced on him by how badly we started. We’ve also been caught cold by Leeds and Sunderland actually being prepared for promotion and not being shit whereas last season Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton were all terrible. It says it all that we were ‘competing with’ and losing out to the likes of Sunderland and Leeds for players. Not even doing enough to match the ambitions of teams that prior to the season everyone wrote off. Moyes, Lop, Potter and to a lesser extent Nuno all have a part to play in this but there is only one person responsible and that’s not going to change whatever cheapo manager he might employ now. All it’s going to do is confuse and paralyse any prospective transfer activity. We are going down as it stands regardless of who is standing in the dugout. There is no magic wand big enough for any new manager to wave around because we simply don’t have the players at the club to properly compete with any other teams in this division. 

I an sure ‘some’ other managers could make some difference but definitely not enough without substantial help from the boardroom which they simply won’t get, and none of those difference maker managers are coming anywhere near us. If Nuno is fired it’ll be another unemployed or cheapo option coming in who won’t be able to do anything.

I usually loathe this question being asked because on the whole I think it’s somewhat unfair, but who exactly do you think is actually going to take the job that’s capable of turning things around?

I'm sure some Forest fans argued the same regarding the sacking of Nuno and then Postecoglu..

We need to stop being so accepting as if this is the best we can hope for anyway, regardless of manager in charge. The useless cսnt has a win ratio of just 15%. It's a sackable offence coupled with the gutless dogshit Football and oddball decisions he continually makes. The Club need to launch this broken deckchair overboard before we sink entirely.

Key difference though is that Forest have a squad that finished seventh last season and just massively underperforming which was never going to be that tricky to get half a tune out of or enough of a tune out of, unless you want to play suicide football, so a new manager could go in and make a material difference without needing too much. Our squad is just plain shit and whatever way you try and tart it up with different selections or formations or tactics it’s still going to be shit. The players weren’t underperforming, they were just at their level as a group. 

Forest were in the GP with some cuts and bruises and needed a pep up and some fresh voices and ideas and a plaster. The only reason it got bad for them was the owner meddling and then appointing a crackpot manager. We were and still are in intensive care on life support in need of multiple organ transplants and not even willing to pay any medical fees for the necessary treatment. 

A new manager isn’t going to do fuck all without a tranche of new players who are up to standard.

Sacking Nuno is just rearranging deckchairs on the titanic at this point. Anyone who comes in is going to find them woefully short of premier league standard players at both ends of the pitch and they’ll need to get 4-5 players of that quality in to make a tangible difference. 

we get a defensive minded manager in and we will carry on being piss weak going forward and not scoring any goals, we get an attacking minded manager in and we will start getting overrun and exposed at the back shipping them for fun again and the end result is the same. The only thing which can save us is the tightfisted midget doing what he should have been doing for the last three years and supplying his manager with 4 legit difference makers. He’s too tight and short sighted to do that, though. His chronic underinvestment and huge profligacy and stupidity in transfer business over the last five years has done for us at last. He did nowhere near enough of what was needed in the summer when we all could see than what a shit unbalanced inadequate squad of players we had. The striker situation in particular is beyond belief. How it could have been left to rot by Sullivan and Moyes so badly is criminal to the point we are relying on Callum Wilson as the only recognised senior striker at the club. I’m not even bothering to count the cowardly wantaway German.

However it came at a cost of cutting corners with compo for his old staff which he was more than happy to go along with. It was 1 of the first alarm bells that rang loud in my head, amongst many that have gone off with decisions involving this clown.

He don't give much of a fuck, just going through the motions with little care in the world coasting along whilst collecting his dough. You don't sense any urgency from him or really see him all that animated on the touchline. It was so jarring watching him on the touchline permanently arms folded, expressionless the way that he does compared to Silva or Emery recently. It's not a good look that feels you with any confidence this fella either knows what he's doing or just as importantly gives a fucking shit. He embodies the defeatist approach to how he manages the Team.

Carrick is the romantic pick but still pretty inexperienced. O’Neill similar although sacked at Wolves after kerping them up but starting winless in 10 games, wins 2 then sacked.  Bit hasty imo as his Wolves side played decent football. Got sacked at Bournemouth not for results simply because he was catetaker and although kept them up too they already had Iraola identified.  In the shop we look for managers in GON or Carrick about as good as it gets although I recall everyone saying Nuno was the much better choice a few months back.

Bit like politics where politicians or political parties are great until they actually get into government.

There's no point sacking him now, we'll just end up with another shit manager with someone else's squad who will relegate us. They've either got to throw the kitchen sink at backing Nuno or start selling off the squad now in preparation for Championship football next season.

But as ever they'll do the halfway house option and either partially back Nuno but not enough to make a difference or bring in another manager and expect them to weave miracles out of this pathetic squad that is completely devoid of character.
