Perfect opportunity to freshen it up today by starting downes with Rice and Benrahma instead of fornals.
I expect it to be the very tired slow line up with Soucek, Coufal, Fornals, a back 5 etc etc. well hold on for 20 mins, Wilson will score as per and Moyes will make some changes around 70 mins.
It’s the most predictable thing in the prem.

I feel like Antonio's actual lack of control and general skill is showing up now that his pace is waning.

Its funny how some footballers do well just through pure athleticism rather than actually being good on the ball.

What annoys me most with him is his totally lack of balance and composure. Everything is a gamble with him. Will he stay up? will he fall over? Who knows! I think it's that unpredictability and how he really isn't a conventional footballer is what has got him so far. But an Antonio a yard slower will be really bad.

Moyes + Nolan = Walrus Mk 2

I'm fully expecting a good old fashioned ear cupping very soon

Moyes is very similar to Fat Sam, in that he knows deep down his doing things wrong, and is making mistakes. His just too pig headed to admit he got it wrong. You only need to see the same player with terrible form getting the nod, week in week out. Blokes a dinosaur, and needs to be retired off, or sent to some northern shit team like Sheffield United or Blackburn!! Thats his standard!!

Moyes attitude towards Benrahma is just weird now, it's as if he hates it when a player proves him wrong, but shouldn't the opposite be true?

If a manager criticises a player in public it's normally in order to get a reaction and for them to do better, Benrahma has often been our best player yet the more he proves himself the more irritated Moyes becomes. Just another example of Moyes' chronic stubborness.

I'm very pleased that we've progressed and that we now have a great chance of getting to the last 16.

But what I'm not pleased about is the shit standard of football we continue to suffer under Moyes. Yesterdays performance was mind numbing. We were terrible going forward and it was no wonder their keeper let that Benrahma shot go past his shoulder because for the previous 78 minutes he'd had fuck all to do and must have been dozing off.

Having watched Wolves yesterday expect them to stuff us on Saturday.

I don’t get when people say we’ve been unlucky. VAR has cost us 1 point at Chelsea, had ridiculous decisions go our way against Bournemouth & Fulham to counter that.

I did feel like the three centre halves worked well. And I like the intention to push two wing-backs higher up and into a deep midfield role. But Brentford weren't exactly at full strength, so it's hard to know if it will work for us in the Premier League.

Anyway, still want Moyes gone. I don't like changing managers often, but we all saw enough poor shit from him throughout 2022 to think his time has passed.

Re: ⚽ Brentford v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Moyes' tactical/formation change yesterday was also interesting.

He tried a shit version of Tuchel's 3-4-2-1 or 3-5-2, but still with Soucek trying to pick up the ball from his back line in deep positions. Tried pushing the full-backs into a four-line alongside Rice and Soucek, ahead of the three CBs.

If you're going to play that way, you've got to have central midfielders more adept at passing and with technical ability. We were more solid, but lacked creativity and vision in midfield as a consequence.

Wonder if Moyes sees that approach as his 'masterstroke' way out of a hole in the league?

ED - Absolutely right. In fact, how the fuck have we managed to get 14 points? We can't pass, defend or score, and have no pace.

Re: ⚽ Brentford v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Poor performance in a poor game - but obviously I'm glad we won. Sometimes a few scrappy wins is what kick-starts a decent run of form.

Still think we need to change manager. Moyes will have to do a lot more, quickly, to convince people otherwise. But I'm a West Ham fan and it is always good to see us win games - irrespective.

This absolute, utter fucking guff once again.

We have probably been the luckiest team in the league this season overall. In fact, in terms of what we've deserved, we should be on about 5 points this season.

You think we played well against them in the league? Fucking hell.

No wonder the manager has got away with being the worst manager in the league this season, the champion of low expectations.

We deserve a bit of luck, we had some terrible luck / decisions going against us early in the season. No complaints from me.

Moyes will take credit for the sub but what actually for ?
Not using our leading goalscorer ,most creative individual and bright light.
Moyes just baffles me with his negative attitude.
He's got lucky again with Gold's death. He's got lucky that Wolves play on wednesday then at 3pm against us on the following. Wolves a

We played well against them in the league and got beat 2-0 . Played bad in the cup and win.

Tis the way sometimes.

Re: ⚽ Brentford v West Ham - Official Match Thread - FA Cup Preview
My penny’s worth
After playing them the other week where we probably played our best 30 mins of football all season but still got soundly beaten this was the polar opposite probably as bad as we’ve played in any game this season and we win

Positives
We are into the next round of the cup after what looked a pretty difficult draw
Soucek getting hooked
Benrahama scoring must of literally broke Moyes heart seeing that go in
Oggy back in the starting line up as well as Aguerd although didn’t think either played very well
Cresswell dropped

Negatives
Truly awful performance about as negative as you’re likely to see
Brentford played their reserves and we still lined up like we where playing prime Pep Barcelona
Soucek starts again plays shit again and I’m guessing will start again in the next game. Thank fuck the club didn’t cave and give this absolute donkey a new fat contract or we’d never be able to get rid of him
No kids involved considering the absolute shit we have in both the fullback areas not sure the likes of Ashby and Sarles could do worse but that’s the managers M.O he’d rather play an old slow over paid cart horse who’s been shit for months just because they have experience

I would happily get red of Emerson scamacca kehrer and paqueta and cornet, an absolute shambles of summer transfers. Short sighted lack of replacements of cress and Antonio.
