I am happy with the strength of our squad when you consider Morrison & Poyet could not get on the bench and Carroll, Nolan, Jarvis & O'Brien were all injured.

In a perfect world we would just get rid of Vaz Te and bring in another central defender and then we would be good.

I think Vaz Te , Morrison & Poyet will all go out on loan soon.

Much appreciated post that - needed a few things cleared up after all the changes this summer.

Going by your normal logic, I'll take that as a compliment, you crusty little dangleberry.

stubbo

who were the three defensive midfielders in that formation? obviously kouyate and noble, but did you really think that either downing, zarate, valenai or sakho joined them deep?

Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
Agreed. I think the KGB pimp has brought in some decent players. A positive, forward thinking manager would lead to a decent season.
If Allardyce wants to revert back to defensive negativity to gain results then that's his shout.
Such methods worked wonders last season.

Relax Kronic. This fat cunt can't change his ways, it's only a matter of time and he'll be gone. What is encouraging is the players brought in (probably against Allardyce's wishes) look quality and the team showed yesterday that they can play some nice free-flowing stuff.

With a decent manager, this squad, as it is, is easily good enough to take us forward. Just needs to lose the shackles that is Allardyce.

Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
I agree we pretty much played a loose 4-3-1-2 yesterday...but the real highlight was the movement and interchanging of positions... Instigated largely by Valencia, Sakho, and Zarate.

Anyone mentioned the heart-in-the-mouth moment in the first half when Valencia just inside the corner of our box decided to drop a shoulder facing our goal, and beat 3 men to dribble the ball out... Think it was pretty much his first touch of the ball!

If he didn't have form for being such a negative bastard I'd agree pal. But he does.

You don't see the point in adding negativity to this very fine day?

Must have been you who put the IRON in irony.

hammer 74 4:08 Tue Sep 16
Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
you think we set up to play downing as deep and centrally as noble?

it was moe like 4-2-3-1 with sakho the furthest forward to start with, but with all four forward players alternating, just without zarate or downing ever ending up front on their own.
