I was trying to be subtle AOI in my assessment of Antonio, he’s definitely not in Pellegrini’s first 11 despite evidence to the contrary but it comes across as an agenda.
He has this fairytale in his head and ball playing skilful ballerinas it is.

As far as Antonio is concerned I recall that before he was injured a lot on here kept telling us how he was down the pecking order now that we had all these brilliant highly skilled ball players ahead of him.
Now perhaps people are beginning to understand that you can have too many limp wristed ponces in the side and maybe you do need the strength, power, speed, a fair degree of skill and determination that Antonio brings. Ok, he's not perfect, but who is.
And he's not just a bench-warmer, I'd start him most games.
The sooner he's fit and well again, the better.

The GK stats have been a massive worry since Pellegrini’s arrival, I though we’d come some way to addressing this with only 1 clean sheet required after 6 games to match last seasons total, it seems that was more by luck than judgement though.

Interesting stat from Saturday about Roberto
On only three occasions since the start of last season has a goalkeeper made more saves in a Premier League game, and two of those were by goalkeepers relegated in 2018/19.

Haller looks completely pissed off with the lack of service.
Isolated up front with nobody within fifteen yards doesn't look good for the future unless Pellegrini has a change of tactics this is going to be another long season.

Roberto terrible for the first goal. Amateur. Made a good point blank save from Davies. The shot from Iwobi was right at him. Anyone who thinks that’s a ‘good’ save us wrong. Unless he dived out the way, it was always going to hit him.
Masuaku is our only crossing threat but was not strong enough defending the first goal, which is the main part of his job.
Diop needs to wise up and learn when to stop holding a players shirt. Numerous times he gave away stupid free kicks.
Ogbonna our best player again. Roberto was not because ultimately he gave away a goal, nearly gave an identical second goal minutes later. His kicking is all over the place.
Fredericks is scared of the ball in defensive positions. Panics and clears the ball anywhere. He is particularly weak with headed clearances.
Must’ve been one of Noble’s worst performances ever.
Rice not good but had a 10 min spell where he started to take responsibility and make something happen. Has been ill this week.
Fornals is getting more involved in games. 3 shots but needs to work on his strength. Moaner. Needs to get on with it.
Lanzini the only one who can keep the ball under control but is not dribbling with any purpose.
Anderson horrendous. Taken off to give him a kick up the arse but ultimately I’d have him on the pitch as he normally creates one golden opportunity every game, as he has when playing poor against Bournemouth and Palace. The manager should be able to kick him go the arse verbally.
Haller completely wasted, having to come wide to get the ball. Nobody getting anywhere near him. This guy is up there with the best we’re likely to have and we’re not making the most of it. He does let his head drop though when things aren’t going his way.

Antonio offers something different and has changed games when he’s come on this year.
11th/12th will be an achievement.

That match showed us what sort of season it’ll be - we will flatter to deceive in parts, then limp to 11/12th.
We are miles off teams like Leicester. Fucking Leicester!
Lanzini has been gash recently.
People’s memories of Antonio are getting skewed more with every game he’s out, he’ll be the second coming of Zico by the time he pulls a shirt on again.
