All this pundit talk about Cresswell i find laughable. They talk about the quality of his crosses and dead ball kicks, I'm sorry but he misses a lot of opportunities to get the ball in the box especially as he is so one footed. The times good possession is. sacrificed and ends up back with the goalkeeper has increased since he has been back in the team. As can be seen from the last couple of games teams target him because of his loose marking. For me the major priority of this transfer window is a left back.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
My only criticism of Cresswell is that his main weakness is he doesn't follow his man in these situations, but he isn't the only full back in the PL who does that. It is a weakness that we have in the full back areas though. Masuaku is famous for it, Fredericks positional sense is woeful and whilst Coufal actually was very good at that area last season it has creeped into his game this year. Maybe it's a lack of a voice in the middle. Our bunch on the whole don't seem over vocal and you certainly can't see Diop ordering the defence around. Hopefully Zouma might have a voice on him as he gets more game time. It's a shame we don't have two Declan's as I would put one at centre back and one in midfield!

Agreed.
Bowen was trying to get the ball in the corner. It hit his heel with the Muppet chasing it like a Jack Russell though said Jack Russell has more brains.
Fredericks then errored twice. Terrible header and tackling Declan.
Moyes to blame. Sub on 91 minute, 92,
But he won't use his subs properly.

Repeat this fuck up time n time again.
We were 3 points behind Chelsea 2 games ago.
The best managers use their subs well.
Not using ours has killed the momentum.
Now Man U think they are world beaters and have stolen our momentum

It isnt obviously offside and is close enough that I dont have a problem with a goal being given in that situation.
The error is obviously the lead up by us and Cresswell holding back

That said IF YOU WANTED TO you could always wind the tape on a couple of frames to show the ball leaving Rashford's boot & Cavani's hair would almost certainly be offside.
If you wanted to

I think if we had scored that goal... it would have been given... well unless the cheating always favouring the Big clubs cunting officials drew a wonky line that is....

hey... I could quite enjoy this conspiracy lark....

Each to their own Norman.
Not sure why, but I believed those photos and lines the press put out.
Why did they stop showing us the lines that the VAR ref was looking at / drawing? That was a nice bit of transparency and a step back not showing them. I am starting to prefer real mistakes by refs made in the moment to mistakes after careful consideration that just stint.
If we accept what the ref says in the moment, it was a goal...
It's over, it was a goal, we lost, move on.
When are we going to sign someone?

I dunno, sounds like bollocks really. They scored in the last 30 seconds because 2 things went wrong. Bowen didnt control the ball way in their half, and if the upfield ball was an inch different Fredricks would have had a better header.

Literally would have been a respect the point master class by David Moyes. And no one would have said anything else.

He would have been congratulated about how it took a bench 100m plus set of subs to get a result and it still didnt happen blah blah.

I can never look at the last 30 seconds of any game as indicator of the whole 90. Look at Leicester vs Spurs the other day. Spurs are still shit (as we saw against Chelsea) but that last 1 minute of madness made them look special.

Interesting couple of quotes from Manchester Evening News direct from the words of the West Ham analysts at the match (McKinlay and Pearce) who their reporter was sat near:

The former Blackburn and Scotland midfielder, Billy McKinlay, and Nottingham Forest and England legend Stuart Pearce, were sat next to each other on a spacious desk on Saturday, separated from the middle section where reporters are as crammed in as commuters on the tube.

It was deep into the second-half when McKinlay identified a problem. "Ronaldo in that pocket is killing us again," he said ominously.

and then also:

"Long before Rashford struck, a colleague overheard the West Ham analysts advising David Moyes and his staff to make freshen up a tired team with more substitutions. They recommended Michail Antonio, neutered by Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire, come off. Those in the dugout thought otherwise. Fredericks was West Ham's only substitution and he effectively sparked the decisive 93rd-minute breakaway."

Says it all really. We could see it coming, and the matchday team actively saw it coming. Moyes sat on his hands, didn't react, and it cost us.

The reality is that Brentford jinxed us when he invoked Keegan with a "I will love it, love it if we beat them!" on this thread. After he said that there was no way we were going to win.

It's Brentford rather than Fredericks, Cresswell or Bowen that's to blame for the loss.

I’ve only just seen the goal now - Cresswell ball watching again - terrible from an experienced player .

Agree with Stubbo re Fredricks…

Johnson the better sub…

I blame yesterday's goal squarely on Fredericks.

Terrible header that took the ball infield to them, followed by a hopeless lunge that took him (our fastest defender) out of the game and also by lunging across Rice took Rice out of the game and his ability to cover the move.

...A very very unfortunate sucker Punch delivered by Man U...
Yes we were still trying to win that game..!..
But, with 3 new attackers on for Man U - We should have seen the danger. - and brought on defenders and tried to close the game out at 0-0. But we wanted the Man U scalp. Unfortunately, they took our instead ..!!!..

YES, bitterly disappointing...

But if we can bring in a minimum of two players....and lick our wounds..we can shake off this defeat.

With our new investor surely we have the funds to get what we need and help the team ...they continue to put in a huge effort.

Did Frederick's have one touch of the ball that didn't concede possession?

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Fredericks’ header was pretty bad, but to be fair he was stretching.

Bowen was the real culprit giving the ball away. It was the wrong decision cutting the ball back. He should have played it down the line.

Agreed, rd
We have got 2 points from a possible 15 at home against Brighton, Brentford, Southampton, Leeds and Crystal fucking Palace. Plenty of those were with a full squad. Meanwhile, our squad was knocking both Manchester clubs out of the league Cup and finishing top of our Europa league group.

Even allowing for two shit results in those games, a defeat and a draw, we'd get 10 points from those games. We would in that event be above Chelsea in 3rd.
People got far too excited earlier in the season, in reality we were dropping stupid points at home that were always going to bite us on the arse when we had to start playing better sides away from home.

Exactly nerd.
Had we taken more as we should have at home to the likes of, Brentford, Brighton, Southampton and Leeds then this game wouldn't have been as important and we wouldn't be as pissed off at losing yesterday.
