Re: Opts stats surprise
No real surprises there when it comes to West Ham stats at least. I'm afraid I didn't get to watch Eberechi Eze's every kick of the ball so don't feel qualified to talk about other players.

Dec had his slowest start to a season while I have watched him. A lot of us thought that the weight of being club captain and filling Noble's shoes (off the pitch, around the squad) got to him and I think was undoubtedly a reason for Nobe's return. He of course turned it around eventually as did many of the team. In fact I can only think of Tommy Soucek who didn't.

Zooooo was immense as always and although Cresswell had a stinker the season before last he hardly put a foot wrong when he played. It's just a shame he's getting on a bit in football years and has to cross in from the 18 yard box after a gut busting run instead of the byline if he wants to get back into our box to defend when an attack breaks down.

Maybe we could use those stats to poach a couple of those players? The kind that despite being in a team that's a bit lightweight tries to drive the others forward? Tried and tested in the Prem and not a complete punt on a very good player that may or may not fit into a very physical league.
