On Iplayer. Very good watch. Cantona steals the show, as always.

The rest (apart from seeing Ludo deny Man United the title) was zzzzz.

I didn't love it, far from it and as most have said, a Man United love fest.

That said, I DID enjoy watching a few of the Arsenal vs Man United moments when you knew the two biggest teams wouldn't sit back and try not to lose the game like most do today when playing a title/top 4 rival. They would go all out to win and seeing Viera and Keane go at it was brilliant.

Re: Fever Pitch - The Rise of the Premier League
Same thoughts as everyone else, okay viewing but a Man United advert, which to be fair was slightly less irritating than the interview snippets from the woman from Blackburn, even Alan Shearer droning on would have been preferable!

Same as most of these sort of documentaries, but at least any Man United fan watching it will be depressingly reminded of how it used to be, so that's a plus! I remember watching one programme that had a section on 1985/86 and West Ham were barely mentioned so they always sway towards the "big clubs".

One that is good if you can find it is the documentary on Addidas. Was quite funny when they needed to change the England shirts for the World Cup in Spain because the ones they had were too hot. Some lady was sewing on badges at the airport on the new shirts and when the England players lined up in their next match the badges were all wonky and out of alignment from shirt to shirt. How times change!

Even on the match of the 70s and 80s on the BBC hosted by Dennis waterman years ago .anyone who didn't know any better would have thought man utd dominated football then instead of the scoucers . The propaganda that surrounds that club would have impressed goebbels.

Re: Fever Pitch - The Rise of the Premier League
I watched the rest of it basically on fast forward, so we had:

Ep 1- MAN U vs Leeds for a title
Ep 2- MAN U vs Blackburn for a title
Ep 3- MAN U vs Newcastle for a title
Ep 4- MAN U vs Arsenal for a title

With Man U getting the vast majority of time in each episode. Plus a few vignettes in each episode about the general culture and goings on of the time. What a load of one track shit.

Happened be on when I turned over one day & watched about 10 mins wondering whether I'd had MUTV added to my service.
All this shit has been done to death.

They’ve even nicked the title of the best ever contended English League Title race, which was outside of the Premier League….

awful programme - saw about ten minutes of one programme- its been done to death by sky i dont know how many times. how anyone got this comissioned and paid for a mash up of old material is the only question that remains to be answered on this topic..

Agree with El - not bad viewing but heavily focused on Man Utd. which gets a bit sickly after a few episodes

Re: Fever Pitch - The Rise of the Premier League
Just got round to watching it finally.

Two and a half episodes in and it just feels like a 4 part 'history of Man U special' series so far which as usual ignores almost everything and everyone else. Bit of Blackburn Rovers thrown in but of course it's contextualised by them going up against Man U for the title. I swear 75% of the clubs have only got a cursory mention if that so far,

Worth it just for the reminder of the worst piece of defending of all time..... Nigel Worthington on the post for the Steve Bruce header between Man U and Sheff wed. Literally stood with his hands on hips while the ball goes in a few inches to his left.

I simply said I enjoyed the program. I was certainly not a supporter of the Prem revolution and have never subscribed to Sky Sports.

Before you know it they’ll be trying to form a super league ……. Oh yeah tried that too

Refreshing to see a couple of old school expressing the same opinion I have about the constant bigging up of the Premier League

Just going on the title is enough for me to avoid.

We’ll all fade away eventually and Sky newbies will be all that’s left.

And Alfs.

It just buys into the myth that nothing existed before the PL. I hate it. 'Brighton have never beaten Crewe in the Premier League' etc. Even though Brighton had an 80-year unbeaten record against them till 1998**. Bollocks!

** Not true obvs but I couldn't be arsed to look a WHU stat up. Although I think we've only beaten Chelsea once in 122 years. Apparently.

I have to say I'd forgotten that Shearer did his cruciate so early in his career. Considering it wasn't a gimme in those days you could come back from it his record was incredible really.

Re: Fever Pitch - The Rise of the Premier League
Absolutely, shockingly bad.

Turned it off after 15 minutes.

It was a PR exercise for Sky/Prem, bolstered by a BBC team in hoc to both over TV rights.

An uninspiring idiot's guide to the Premier League aimed at five-year-olds.
