Glad he did not drop Hernnadez as he was by far our best player on Saturday.

With Antonio injured, start Sakho instead of Carroll. He can play wide and Hernandez can stay central.

Can't argue with those saying swapping Carroll for the injured Antonio completely changed our shape, and that it was a tactical blunder by Bilic.Sakho or Ayiew were the better options. On his day, Carroll has been a match winner. Sadly those days are receding with time. He needs more PL games to get full fitness, but we all know he will get injured again with more matches.

As for Bilic, 4 defeats out of 6 PL games does not suggest a long future for hapless Slaven. His heart's in the right place, but his tactical abilities, like playing people out of their natural positions (Antonio at RB FFS) and now Hernandez being asked to adapt to his preferences, tells me that the porn twins need to be making some hasty phone calls to places other than Ann Summers and Conegate.

LOL I know. It's just I've not been able to get on here all weekend. I am sure many feel the same.

But yeah, with Carroll, big bloke but he's like a piece of balsa wood. I think the wind would knock him off the ball at times.

Russ - Yes mate, but that's been done to death now.

You're right about Carroll looking like a ballerina, when the ball comes to him he seems to lean back rather than move his body forward, which means it's more likely to bounce off of him.

No link. But basically the CB's dropped off and Cresswell stepped up. They then had the run onto goal.

All the pundits said that all Cresswell needs to do is drop off and mark the space that ball is played into.

It could've been Sakho, Ayew or even Byram for Antonio. NOT Carroll.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Tottenham- Official Match Thread FT 2-3 Att: 56,988
Bilic made the right decision in dropping either Carroll or Hernandez. He chose Carroll. Not an issue for me as last week I said it needs to be one or the other and shouldn't effect Arnie by pushing Pea out left.

Great. But when Antonio goes off why the need to completely change the way we are playing to accommodate Carroll. There was no need to bring him on to replace Antonio. Especially when up to that point we looked assured, balanced and had good shape. It's almost like he felt forced into dropping Carroll and then took the first opportunity to get him on.

Carroll then proved what a donkey and a liability he can be when trying to play the ball in midfield. Fucking pathetic pass into the centre of the field straight to their play maker. Nice one.

He did no better for the second goal and his touch was pathetic. He also looks weak. No way he should be getting into bother taking that ball down. Just be strong and determined. Get the ball down and play it. He was like a fucking ballerina.

Ok for the first goal there are question marks as to why the centre-backs dropped off and Cresswell stepped up. That can happen and to be fair they don't expect to suddenly be on the back foot. But Carroll was responsible.

For me it was a straight swap - Antonio for Ayew. Just to try and maintain the shape and formation we had which was working.

No need for the major change Bilic made.

Strange one as i dont think the Kouyate challenge before that was a foul either

The whistle had already gone when Nobes when steaming in hadn’t it?

That’s what gave Sissoko the hump

Oh and the ref was fucking shit

How Llorente didnt foul Carroll at the end before the scuffle?

And he gave a foul for the great Noble tackle on Sissoko

Another game taken away form us by cluless shit decisions from Bilic

We was well in it until Antonio went off. Why change the style of play after 20 mins??? Ayew or Sakho should of came on

Carroll was awful, Hernandez turns into players too much, Arnautovic is a match winner but strolls around and cant be bothered half the time and Hart cant take a goal kick without slicing it up into the sky

Thought Zaba, Reid and Fonte played well but was always thinking what if had we sticked to Hernandez central and having the two wingers stretch them with runs in behind

Masuaku on against 10 men again baffling. Surely you move Ayew over to his favoured left hand side and put Sakho on the right????

Unfortunately the 2-3 score is a bad scoreline as it masks over all of the cracks that we have as a team, a management set up and as a club.

Carroll has to play because Carroll has to be fit. We will see this until January and then keep your fingers crossed for a mug team to want to buy him. Bloke is a millstone around West Ham's neck.

Nice blond pony tail and pretend "passion" fight after the game is lost though.

Crystal Palace were on a one-way trip to nothingness, until they met the supernaturally old Woy.*

Luckily, they seem to be still stuck on the same course.

Yesterday Tottenham gave away 20 fouls, and the only booking was the 2 for the dopey Frenchman, and 2 for the mass ruck at the end. The ref did not think any of the other constant fouls where bookable offences?? I'm calling him a fucking cheat!!!

Yes We sold or loaned players under the pretense of singing Carvalho, only to get wet feet when Sporting Lisbon didn’t cave to our demands and the reality having to part with some serious cash got too real for our owners. What goes around will come around for them eventually.

I'm getting the feeling Bilić was acting under some sort of owner pressure to play Carroll, especially in big TV games like this. Hopefully this is the end of that silly wheeze.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Tottenham- Official Match Thread FT 2-3 Att: 56,988
yesterday with hernandez up top and us likely to see less of the ball than then and more in our half it meant there was likely to be a lot of space behind their back four to exploit and that's what we did and it was working. So why then when Antonio gets injured to you put a lump of a centre forward on the pitch meaning spurs could push up 15 yards because there was no longer any threat of us getting behind them. Sureley Sakho or Ayew was the option? or maybe a natural winger in Antonio's space, oh yeah we sold them all and now have no cover !!!

Watford are a smaller club with greater ambition in terms of net spend compared to us, who have showed relatively little for our size. Results don’t lie and look at watford so far.
